Pendulum is a collaboration between artists Michelle Marie Roy and Kim Rosendahl. The work addresses gender, passivity, and stigma, and questions identity, rituals, as well as spatial and temporal captivity. 

A pendulum is a mechanical device that moves in a predetermined motion. The title refers to the predicament of being compelled into conventional behaviors, and the inability to change. 

Description: A young woman, alone in her apartment, prepares for tea for two. Stiff and regimented, she puts up her hair, applies lipstick, and puts on her dress. She sets the table with an old tea set, and waits.
